Previously, we had a contractor from "an agency" come out to repair out garage door: the spring would not longer hold the door up. The problem was fixed, but I felt he did the minimum amount possible, i.e., the door stayed up like it is supposed to, but it squeaked loudly, which it did not do before the repair. Six months later, our door stopped working again, only worse, a cable broke. A friend recommended Precision Garage Door. This company sends their employees out, not a contractor. The repair was done with new parts (cables, new rollers, a new spring), plus the squeak is completely gone.

Returning 2015 Customer. Technician, Ian Rice, arrived in a timely fashion, was courteous, respectful of the property and worked efficiently. Our garage door issue was resolved perfectly, but it was an expensive repair, $1,800. The overall cost of springs, rollers, door alignment with some door upgrades was certainly more than I imagined, but the door performance is now excellent. The garage door is fully functional, quiet and actually operates better than when installed new.

My springs and motor broke on my garage door. I called Precision Door and they came out within 2 hours! The website let me know who the technician was and he called to let me know when he would arrive. He was extremely knowledgeable and pointed out what needed replacement. He was able to complete the job in less than 3 hours! I had planned to replace my old opener with one with a back up battery because I could not open the door when the power was out to remove my car.

Philip is very professional and polite. After he came to check my garage door which was stopped working, he patiently gave me his experty's opinion of what happened and how to solved it. The garage door rail was damaged. We called Precision Garage Door of San Jose. They were here in less than two hours. What incredible service we received from Joel Jaimez. He reviewed our problem, as he inspected the entire system he noted several problems waiting to happen such as the cables were fraying (they were very old). He explained each situation very thoroughly along with costs. When he completed the service, he showed us each component and explained how it worked. He showed us preventative maintenance steps to take. It is obvious that he takes pride in his work and is very professional. Thanks, Joel

I called Precision Overhead Garage Door Service at around 10:30AM due to my garage door malfunction. I gave a description of the problem and was told a Technician would arrive between 12:00 and 4:00PM , and I would also receive a call prior to the Techs arrival. Paul Brinkman called me at 12:45PM and informed me that he would arrive by 1:15PM. Paul arrived before 1:15PM. He was polite and friendly. Utilizing his years of experience and technical talents, Paul quickly assessed the situation, and informed me of the actions he could take to repair the garage door. I agreed to the repairs. Paul repaired the garage door and exceeded my expectations for the garage door service repair. Paul Brinkman is a totally awesome Tech!

Our drive motor gave out after more than 25 years. We called precision door service and they came out the same day and replaced our motor. Our service person, Brandon, was extremely friendly and competent. The new drive came with a motion sensor light and a panel attached to our garage so we can open it without the remote. We also got two remotes included and we purchased a third. Overall, we were very pleased with both the service and the product. I would highly recommend precision door.

I was told to expect Paul but a guy named Kevin came instead and he told me he's only been working there for 3 months. He finished replacing both springs in 30 minutes but the door was very noisy. I asked him to lubricate the springs/door he said that would be an extra $199. I was charged $950 for replacing the springs, I feel that that should be included, it's just courtesy!

The visit was not helpful. He wasn’t even here 10 minutes for an opinion of what he could do or not do. So I had to pay the full service charge since he didn’t do a thing. I couldn’t get the 50% off I was hoping for. I won’t call you guys again. The bottom of the garage door in the center needs to be cut off a little or the cement in the middle of the garage floor needs to be grilled down. Not something your company can do.

My garage door spring broke and I needed to get it fixed right away. I chose Precision because they answered the phone right away (rather than having me leave a message) and they were able to send someone out the same day. The mechanic who replaced the spring, Joel, was very professional and friendly. He called when he was on his way and showed up in a nice truck. Even though I had an odd-sized door that was 20 years old, he had all the parts with him. The experience from start to finish told me that this is a well-run, customer oriented company. I can not comment on the price because I did not comparison shop, but it seemed reasonable.

I placed the repair request Sunday evening. Monday morning the installer called me advising me that he was on the way. He arrived promptly at 9:00 a.m. He evaluated the condition of the garage door and the garage door opening mechanism. After that, he gave me an honest appraisal of the recommended work that should be performed. He replaced the garage door opener, the door rollers, and generally serviced the garage door. The installer was very polite and extremely efficient in the performance of his work.

We have been Precision Door a customer since 2000 which included two new garage doors - the 1st was to replace the original on the house, new door opener, and maintenance as needed. We have been 5 Star customers from then to today when they come out to replace the door opener. The products are superior, the installlers/service technicians are knowledgeable and professional. They arrive on time, the work is completed in timely manner. When on occasion we have interacted with the ofice staff they have been great too. I'm very glad I chose Precision Garage Door of San Jose, and favorably impressed with technician Mario. He does the right things, and understands why. To balance the weight of the door, the spring needs to pull very hard when the door is almost closed, but much less when the door is fully open and in the tracks overhead. Mario chose the correct springs and made careful adjustments so the door opener motor doesn't have to work hard either opening or closing. He also lubricated all the moving parts. The door and opener are now smooth and quiet -- should last a long time. Good job!

The technician arrived early morning, was very enthusiastic and quickly installed the new door hardware. The main problem is the technician did not know how to adjust the hardware so the door could be opened by one person. The spring pressure was not enough to mostly help open the door. I finally had to show/convince him to increase the tension on the springs to allow one to open the door. This a very large door and not probably typical to what the technician normally runs into.

Fabulous service! We called on a Saturday afternoon when our garage door spring broke. Our technician Gavin came out early Sunday morning. He fixed everything efficiently, carefully, and neatly, and was super pleasant and friendly. Five stars for this small, family-owned local business! (And there wasn't even a weekend surcharge!!)

Good service and good repairs We called Precision Garage Door at 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday. A live person answered the call, got my details, and indicated that a service person would be here between 4 and 8 p.m. That conversation was followed by an email, which included the name of the serviceman (James W., subject to change), and pictures of the crew. James called at 5:30, 20 minutes away. He arrived, diagnosed the problem, and showed me the broken spring. He then prepared a proposal for repairs (including a couple of options for enhancements). I was not surprised that the repair was not cheap, but the price did seem generally in line. And I have no problem paying a fair price for good work. Each part of the process was well handled, James was knowledgeable and gracious, and the repair was made efficiently. I am happy to recommend both the company and James for the quality of their service.
