Thank you for not only the rapid response, but fully explained work needed to be done, and upon completion of such, Joel carefully showed me the completed work, and showed me how I could lift the door manually, should a power failure, or any such interference should happen in the future. At 93, I appreciated the fact he arranged this manual operation to make the door light enough, I actually could lift the door quite easily. He was great. Thank you !

I called Precision with symptom of intermittent operation/door stopping part way up, & arranged time slot between 12:30pm & 4:30pm same day. Tech called me at 1:10pm that he is en-route and arrived on time 35 minutes later. David listened to symptoms, asked questions about door usage frequency, described his assessment of problem. He explained primary must do repair and related secondary repairs he may suggest depending on what he finds as he starts the work. He allowed me to choose among necessary work and what options I can afford. He showed total cost on his tablet for me to see range of cost. Initial cost higher than expected. David made it easy to understand what is needed and could be deferred. Very happy with courteous and competent service.

Our first experience was dreadful. We had the worst service representative ever. The manager was hard to deal with as well back a year ago. I will now retract my comments to the present situation. We just had Paul Brinkman come out and he made everything so very pleasant. He was polite, through and very knowledgeable. We definitely will be calling for him to install our next opener. Thank you I now send an original 1 vote from a year ago to a 10 now.

Previously, we had a contractor from "an agency" come out to repair out garage door: the spring would not longer hold the door up. The problem was fixed, but I felt he did the minimum amount possible, i.e., the door stayed up like it is supposed to, but it squeaked loudly, which it did not do before the repair. Six months later, our door stopped working again, only worse, a cable broke. A friend recommended Precision Garage Door. This company sends their employees out, not a contractor. The repair was done with new parts (cables, new rollers, a new spring), plus the squeak is completely gone.

Returning 2015 Customer. Technician, Ian Rice, arrived in a timely fashion, was courteous, respectful of the property and worked efficiently. Our garage door issue was resolved perfectly, but it was an expensive repair, $1,800. The overall cost of springs, rollers, door alignment with some door upgrades was certainly more than I imagined, but the door performance is now excellent. The garage door is fully functional, quiet and actually operates better than when installed new.

I called Precision Overhead Garage Door Service at around 10:30AM due to my garage door malfunction. I gave a description of the problem and was told a Technician would arrive between 12:00 and 4:00PM , and I would also receive a call prior to the Techs arrival. Paul Brinkman called me at 12:45PM and informed me that he would arrive by 1:15PM. Paul arrived before 1:15PM. He was polite and friendly. Utilizing his years of experience and technical talents, Paul quickly assessed the situation, and informed me of the actions he could take to repair the garage door. I agreed to the repairs. Paul repaired the garage door and exceeded my expectations for the garage door service repair. Paul Brinkman is a totally awesome Tech!

Our drive motor gave out after more than 25 years. We called precision door service and they came out the same day and replaced our motor. Our service person, Brandon, was extremely friendly and competent. The new drive came with a motion sensor light and a panel attached to our garage so we can open it without the remote. We also got two remotes included and we purchased a third. Overall, we were very pleased with both the service and the product. I would highly recommend precision door.

My garage door spring broke and I needed to get it fixed right away. I chose Precision because they answered the phone right away (rather than having me leave a message) and they were able to send someone out the same day. The mechanic who replaced the spring, Joel, was very professional and friendly. He called when he was on his way and showed up in a nice truck. Even though I had an odd-sized door that was 20 years old, he had all the parts with him. The experience from start to finish told me that this is a well-run, customer oriented company. I can not comment on the price because I did not comparison shop, but it seemed reasonable.

I placed the repair request Sunday evening. Monday morning the installer called me advising me that he was on the way. He arrived promptly at 9:00 a.m. He evaluated the condition of the garage door and the garage door opening mechanism. After that, he gave me an honest appraisal of the recommended work that should be performed. He replaced the garage door opener, the door rollers, and generally serviced the garage door. The installer was very polite and extremely efficient in the performance of his work.

I'm very glad I chose Precision Garage Door of San Jose, and favorably impressed with technician Mario. He does the right things, and understands why. To balance the weight of the door, the spring needs to pull very hard when the door is almost closed, but much less when the door is fully open and in the tracks overhead. Mario chose the correct springs and made careful adjustments so the door opener motor doesn't have to work hard either opening or closing. He also lubricated all the moving parts. The door and opener are now smooth and quiet -- should last a long time. Good job!

Overall, I was very pleased with my service and installer. However, I was disappointed when after the installer left, I discovered the Liftmaster WLED model (which I was told is high-end/quality) does not work with the built-in (homelink) buttons in my 2015 Ford Escape or the 2008 Ford Explorer. According to the liftmaster manual it may require another communication box which wasnt supplied. I had no problem with my 20 year old craftsman lift (before it broke). It just seems crazy to provide a product without this feature, or even check and resolve before leaving. Fortunately I paid for a second hand held controller, so I can use those for my two cars.
