This company was reccommended to me by a good friend who had previously used their services for a garage door repair and was happy with the results they provided. I also was happy with their garage door services . From my initial inquiry phone call to the completed project they were very helpful. I was able to have them come out to look at my garage door the day of my call. When I called them at 2:30 they were able to provide ne with me a window of time for their arrival: between 4 and 8 . When I asked the receptionist if they could determine if the repair person would come closer to 4:00 or 8:00 she said that person would call me about 1/2 hour in advance of their arrival. I received a call from Paul, the technician. He came exactly at 4 as he had said. I He was clear about his procedures and explained how he would evaluate the problem. He determined a quote. He stated that I have a very sturdy 24 year old garage door . He said that he felt though, that this garage door was designed more for a commercial residence than a residential one. He listened to what I mentioned had been problematic with the garage door.. it would only open 1/4 of the way and was jerky and loud upon opening I had to lift the door by hand the rest of the way and help push it up in order to get it to open fully. Paul was able to break down options of what could be comproble solutions to the problem . He showed me the breakdown on his iPad of his quotes and explained the four options.. He was willing to talk by phone to my friend who had used this company to go over the information he had shared with me as I wanted to get another opinion . Paul provided 4 options explaining what would be the warranty or not for each option. He gave me his opinion about how much he thought I should replace where I would most likely be happy with the end result. He was able to give comparisons in a manner I could relate to using examples . He was able to complete the work that day. He had a variety of parts in his truck.His invoice was very detailed about the completed work. He determined the work could be finshed by 7:00 and it was . He said that after fixing sone of the basics I could still add or change to options he had provided along the way as he worked. I am so happy to have a garage door that works properly again. Paul was very knowledgeable and efficient . I highly recommend requesting that Paul could be your technician for your garage door repair needs .

The service technician Phillip helped me access the problems with my garage. He reassured me that my plan of replacing the whole garage was better than fixing small problems when they happen. Phillip also informed me of the great prices Precision Garage Door had for a door install. I had a quote from another company that seemed way too high while precision garage door seemed more in my price range. My only regret is not going with them sooner.

Five stars to Paul Brinkmanship at Precision for the excellent job installing a new garage door opener and making some additional repairs to my aging garage door! The service was professional and courteous. Paul is so knowledgeable and was able to quickly assess the problems and offer solutions for me to consider. I appreciate the time he took to explain things in detail and answer my questions along the way, and to include a little tutorial on the features and operation of the new door opener. All repairs were completed within the estimated timeline and I am quite pleased with the results. Will definitely consider Precision for my future garage door needs!

How I wish all repair businesses were like yours! Thank you for not only the rapid response, but fully explained work needed to be done, and upon completion of such, Joel carefully showed me the completed work, and showed me how I could lift the door manually, should a power failure, or any such interference should happen in the future. At 93, I appreciated the fact he arranged this manual operation to make the door light enough, I actually could lift the door quite easily. He was great. Thank you !

Garage door originally bought from Precision, long time ago and I think from that time we had to call Precision onl y once, until this time. Technician came on time, was polite, did his work, all seems fixed, and I would gladly recommend Precision to anyone in need of service. My daughter was here afterwards and I told her about it and she said if she ever needed service, she would contact your office. She lives in east bay, contra costa county. One small item- since technician had a rather heavy accent and I haave severe hearing problems (I am 99!) conversation was a bit difficult! This in no way affected his work!!

I called for an appointment and the dispatcher was kind and got me an appointment for the same day. She said Jose would call me 30 minutes before arrival. I got a call from Paulino during the designated time window and he was already at the house. So it looks like they switched technicians maybe for scheduling reasons. It turns out my garage opener was not broken as it was functioning there. But Paulino started telling me I should replace all these things (springs were too "small"), wheels on garage door needed to be replaced, pulley needed to be replaced, etc. Then he said, "You don't want to change the motor?" He went onto his iPad and started adding up all this stuff. The quote was over two grand. I felt as though as if he was just upselling me on a lot of stuff that I didn't need. I told him I didn't want to do all that stuff, so he took some items off and asked me if that price was ok. I said no, so he took more stuff off and asked if the price was ok. I said no, then he took more stuff off and said this is the bare minimum. At that point, I honestly didn't trust his recommendations. It felt like a pure sales job to try to maximize the items and services they sell to customers. He wasn't pushy at all, but he seemed to be in a hurry because it was his last call for the night. I politely declined everything and just paid the $69.95 service call fee, which was fine. I've dealt with service managers at all kinds of car dealerships (Toyota, Lexus, Audi, BMW, Subaru). This service call felt like I was at a Toyota dealership. They tell you that you need all these things and that your garage door will break or is too heavy for those springs and the garage opener. This might shock you, but we have a solid wood garage door that is very heavy. We have a LiftMaster garage door opener that is ORIGINAL from when the house was built. We have owned the house since 1990 and I personally repaired that LiftMaster once about 25 years ago when the motor stripped the plastic gear inside. It's never been repaired since. The only entry to the garage is through the garage door as it's a detached garage. So I kind of laughed when he wanted me to buy a new garage opener for $1,400. Overall, it's easy to get an appointment on the same day with these guys. I don't know if my technician tried to sell me all those things on his own or if they are encouraged to do so. I prefer it when you don't feel as though you are being upsold. Technician was nice though and he didn't seem pissed when I said I'll just pay for the service call. Your experience may vary, but that's my experience.

I called Precision with symptom of intermittent operation/door stopping part way up, & arranged time slot between 12:30pm & 4:30pm same day. Tech called me at 1:10pm that he is en-route and arrived on time 35 minutes later. David listened to symptoms, asked questions about door usage frequency, described his assessment of problem. He explained primary must do repair and related secondary repairs he may suggest depending on what he finds as he starts the work. He allowed me to choose among necessary work and what options I can afford. He showed total cost on his tablet for me to see range of cost. Initial cost higher than expected. David made it easy to understand what is needed and could be deferred. Very happy with courteous and competent service.

Our first experience was dreadful. We had the worst service representative ever. The manager was hard to deal with as well back a year ago. I will now retract my comments to the present situation. We just had Paul Brinkman come out and he made everything so very pleasant. He was polite, through and very knowledgeable. We definitely will be calling for him to install our next opener. Previously, we had a contractor from "an agency" come out to repair out garage door: the spring would not longer hold the door up. The problem was fixed, but I felt he did the minimum amount possible, i.e., the door stayed up like it is supposed to, but it squeaked loudly, which it did not do before the repair. Six months later, our door stopped working again, only worse, a cable broke. A friend recommended Precision Garage Door. This company sends their employees out, not a contractor. The repair was done with new parts (cables, new rollers, a new spring), plus the squeak is completely gone.

Returning 2015 Customer. Technician, Ian Rice, arrived in a timely fashion, was courteous, respectful of the property and worked efficiently. Our garage door issue was resolved perfectly, but it was an expensive repair, $1,800. The overall cost of springs, rollers, door alignment with some door upgrades was certainly more than I imagined, but the door performance is now excellent. The garage door is fully functional, quiet and actually operates better than when installed new.

My springs and motor broke on my garage door. I called Precision Door and they came out within 2 hours! The website let me know who the technician was and he called to let me know when he would arrive. He was extremely knowledgeable and pointed out what needed replacement. He was able to complete the job in less than 3 hours! I had planned to replace my old opener with one with a back up battery because I could not open the door when the power was out to remove my car.

Arrived within the service wndow and called when he was coming. Prepared a detailed estimate after asserssing the problem and other options for addressing additional problems he found. He quoted a price and a repair time both were met. The workmanship was superior. 3. I have been a customer of Presicion Doors for over 20 years including the initial purchase of the door, and have never been disappointed. The garage door rail was damaged. We called Precision Garage Door of San Jose. They were here in less than two hours. What incredible service we received from Joel Jaimez. He reviewed our problem, as he inspected the entire system he noted several problems waiting to happen such as the cables were fraying (they were very old). He explained each situation very thoroughly along with costs. When he completed the service, he showed us each component and explained how it worked.
