This is a follow-up to my last review . Pat Prendergast contacted me to discuss my negative review of Precision Door. He was genuinely concerned about the service I received & wanted to make it right by me. We discussed the situation & came to a conclusion which exceeded my expectations. Pat’s immediate response, understanding & quick resolution has caused me to regret my initial review. There was a communication barrier between us.He either didn't understand what I was saying or didn't care.His main focus was to sell me something that I didn't think I needed.When I asked him why I needed it, he tried to change the subject.He felt totally untrustworthy to me, which is why I declined to have any additional work done.

I had asked for a few things in the appointment I made: to help me close my garage door and for a price quote for a new door entirely as the one I currently have is shot. I was excited to have someone come out because it was a safety issue with my door being partially open and I definitely couldn't close it on my own. The woman I spoke to was amazing and helped me immensely. She understood the urgency of my request and got someone over the same day. She said the service to close the garage would be $49.95 but that was half off $24.95 (give or take a few pennies)..... YES! I thought that was a great price considering another company wanted to charge me $65.00. Unfortunately, that's when my great experience ended. The tech who came out to service my garage door and quote me on a new one tried to make me feel as though he was giving me all these great deals. "This is what I'm going to do for you." and so on and so on. My entire appt was like this. The more he talked the more shut down I became. I'm a woman, after all, I'm likely pretty stupid. He quoted me just under $3400.00 for a new door. I told him I couldn't afford that and wanted to look at something cheaper. My request went on deaf ears. He wasn't looking after my best interest but rather he just wanted to push a sale and when I told him I need to get other estimates he wasn't happy. My service fee went from $24.95 to $249.00. WHAT? To shut my garage door? He said if I purchased the door the service would be FREE. Now I'm pissed and want him out of my house. What a huge disappointment with my experience, especially since you are family owned and diamond certified. The end result. The tech was able to shut my door and didn't charge me. I'm not too sure why, but I thanked him and he was on his way. He definitely wasn't happy when he left. He looked more annoyed with me because I didn't order the door.

Prior to selecting your company, we had 3 other garage door operators work on our past problems. Took a chance with Precision based on the Diamond Certified Directory and we never regretted it. Your Technician Gabriel needs to be complimented for immediately correcting the problem and spending time explaining the mechanics of the garage door. This was a referral and I am so pleased. Blake came out the same afternoon that I called, put in a new motor, I added two additional remotes, and it was all done in a bit more than an hour. I will definitely refer anyone to this company, and hope they are fortunate enough to have Blake come out!!

I called Precision to replace our garage door opener. Set up an appointment for Saturday. Gabriel called to let us know he is about 20-30 out. He arrived a little sooner, he showed up in uniform and a marked truck. He was very polite and efficient. Once installed he went over everything with us. He answered all of our questions. I live in the Willow Glen/Cambrian area of San Jose. My garage door spring shattered during the night. I called Precision at 8:00 a.m. the next morning requesting service. At 11:00 a.m. Mike and Mario arrived in the Precision truck. Not only had the spring shattered but the axel bearings were completely worn through and broken as was one of the door hinges. They took apart everything, replaced the damaged parts and were finished and gone at 12:10 p.m. I couldn't ask for better service... I also turned Mike on to a blues guitarist he'd never heard of.

When i scheduled the appointment i was quoted $299 to replace my broken springs At the time of the appointment I upgraded to the heavier duty springs which increased my cost to $350 than my torsion rod was bad & the bearings needed to be upgraded so now my bill went to $923 with labor & tax. After all the work was done the installer was looking at the door & noticed the bracket that attached the j bar to the motor to the door was cracked & broken also separating from the door which must have happened when the spring broke. So i now need to replace the door after spending $923 i still have a garage door that i cant open. I feel that if the installer would have done an inspection of the door before doing the repair we could have settled the situation with me paying for the service call & not $923.

Mario and Mike came out to address the issue with my garage door. In no time, Mike found the problem to be with the support bracket that mounts to the door. Mario installed a new bracket, problem fixed. He even programmed my phone to operate and monitor the door. They were friendly and professional. I only use Precision for my garage door needs. I was very happy with the service that Gabe provided. As promised, he called about 30 minutes prior to arrival and finished the job within the time he estimated. The basic issue was a broken door spring, but he looked everything over thoroughly and recommended that a few additional components be replaced. Since the door is almost 30 years old, I thought that was worthwhile. The door moves smoothly and is much more quiet than before.

My garage opener was broken and no longer operated. James Walker was the assigned tech. He showed me the cause of the problem, made recommendation for replacement, and also recommended door maintenance works. All jobs were quoted in advance and proceeded with approval. James did a quick and superb job. I'm happy with the services provided.

This is my second time I called Precision doors, first was Cory he replaced the garage door opener last year it’s so quiet I can’t hear it from the second floor, then today Mike replaced the garage door springs in minutes, these guys are professionals, friendly and fast. Found Precision Door Service in the Diamond Certified Directory. Extremely impressed with their service and professionalism. Very easy to schedule an appointment. The repair man, Sameh, called our home on his way over and he arrived within the expected time window. Our garage door opener had stopped working, so we had no idea whether it could be repaired or had to be replaced. Sameh did an excellent job of explaining the issue to us and providing us with several options on how to proceed. We decided to go with a new garage door opener, and he was able to completely install it (by himself!) within 2 hours. It works great and he cleaned up the entire area before leaving. I will definitely use Precision Door for any future issues that I have with my garage door, and I would highly recommend them.

My serviceman, Sameh Tamimi, was professional as well as personable. He assessed my needs efficiently and explained my options. Unfortunately, I need a panel that might not be readily available, as my garage door appear to have been custom made (by previous owner). Sameh was understanding and willing to put the effort into researching to find if your company can locate a properly sized panel. Sameh was more than patient with me as he educated me on what my "situation" entailed. The scheduling of service went smoothly as well, and I would definitely recommend your company to friends and family.

A receipt was never emailed only this survey. Good technician, but bad business systems, no email receipt, had to call to get one, appointment originally set for April 30 between 12:30 and 4:30. Noone showed up. When I called they said the receptionist never set up the appointment since I didn't finalize the call. Not true, I stated OK when she said the time, she didn't ask for any more info, said nothing so I hung up. Technicians are very good, systems, or management seems to be problematic.
